Terms of Service
1. Acceptance
These terms govern your use of Unvent, a browser extension operated by Unvent ("we", "us"). By installing or using Unvent you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Unvent.
2. What Unvent does
Unvent rewrites text you are composing into a tone you choose (Polished, Direct, or Warm), in place, in editable fields on the web.
3. Accounts
Some features require an account, created via a magic email link or Google sign-in. You're responsible for keeping access to your email/Google account secure. You must be old enough to form a binding contract in Singapore.
4. Plans & limits
The Free plan includes up to 5 rewrites per day. Pro offers a higher daily limit and a stronger rewriting model (Pro is not unlimited). Pro Plus offers a higher daily limit of 75 rewrites per day, also on the stronger rewriting model (Pro Plus is likewise not unlimited). We may change limits or pricing with reasonable notice; the price, billing interval, and any billing terms are always shown to you before you pay. Paid plans are not yet available for purchase. The figures below are planned pricing for when each plan launches: Pro at $12 per month or $119 per year, Pro Plus at $36 per month or $357 per year, Founding Member at $10 per month or $114 per year, and Founding Plus at $29 per month or $342 per year; rewrite-credit bundles are $5 for 50, $12 for 150, and $35 for 500. Prices are in US dollars and exclude any taxes that may apply where you live.
4a. Credits
Some plans can use rewrite credits, prepaid units that each fund one rewrite beyond your plan's daily limit, run on our standard rewriting model. Credits may be purchased in bundles or granted to you (for example, a Founding Member bonus of 120 credits per month for six months, totalling 720 credits, available on both the Founding and Founding Plus variants; switching between those two variants does not reset or forfeit already-granted bonus credits). One credit funds one rewrite; credits have no cash value, do not expire, and cannot be exchanged for money. We always use your included daily allowance before any credits, and a daily cap on credit-funded rewrites may apply.
Using credits is optional and off by default. If you turn on credit usage ("Use credits past the daily limit"), you authorize us to deduct one credit for each rewrite you generate once you have reached your daily limit, and this continues until you turn it off. You can turn it off at any time from the rewrite popover or Settings; we show your balance and each deduction in the product, and we never let your balance go below zero (credit-funded rewrites stop at zero).
Purchased credits are non-refundable except where required by law or at our discretion (for example, a billing error). Granted or promotional credits (including Founding Member bonus credits) are promotional, non-transferable, have no cash value, and may be modified, suspended, or withdrawn; if your qualifying subscription lapses, un-granted future bonus credits stop, while credits already in your wallet are not clawed back.
EU and UK consumers. A purchased credit bundle is digital content supplied immediately. When you buy credits, you expressly request that we make them available to you straight away, and you acknowledge that you lose any statutory 14-day right of withdrawal in respect of each credit at the moment that credit is used. Credits you have bought but not yet used remain within your 14-day withdrawal period and can be refunded on request; once a credit is consumed, the right of withdrawal for that credit is lost.
4b. Founding Member
A limited number of Founding Member slots are offered while the program is open. The program is capped at 500 concurrently active slots (slots recycle when a member lapses, so the total number of members over time may exceed 500; do not read this as "only 500 members ever"). Founding Members may hold either the Founding variant or the Founding Plus variant; each is held at its own Founding price while the subscription stays continuously active on that variant. Switching between the Founding and Founding Plus variants preserves your Founding status, Founding number, slot, bonus-credit (drip) progress, and reclaim eligibility. If your subscription lapses, you forfeit the Founding price and any future un-granted bonus credit months stop (credits already in your wallet are not clawed back). Your Founding number is kept permanently.
Pricing, and what "for life" means. The Founding price (Founding: $10 per month or $114 per year; Founding Plus: $29 per month or $342 per year) is held for as long as your subscription stays continuously active on that variant: in that sense it is yours for life, for as long as you keep it unbroken. It is a continuity benefit, not a permanent freeze. If your subscription lapses, the Founding price is forfeited (see the reclaim window below). We may adjust the Founding price only with reasonable notice given before any change takes effect; we will not change it retroactively for a billing period you have already paid.
Reclaim window. After a lapse, you currently have a window of 90 days during which you may reclaim an active slot if one is available, at the Founding price of the variant chosen at the time of reclaim (Founding or Founding Plus). We may change this window with reasonable notice. Outside the window, reclaim is conditional: you may re-join if a slot is free and the program remains open, at the then-current Founding price for the chosen variant. Reclaim depends on a free slot and is never guaranteed.
Paid-but-pending remedy. In the rare case that your payment completes but no Founding slot is immediately available (for example, due to simultaneous demand at the slot cap), you are placed in a pending state and receive Founding status as soon as a slot frees. If a slot is not provided to you within 30 days of that charge, you may request, and we will give you, a full refund of that charge. This remedy is carved out of the non-refundable default in section 4c.
4c. Subscriptions and auto-renewal
Pro, Pro Plus, Founding, and Founding Plus subscriptions are recurring. They renew automatically at the then-current price for the chosen billing interval (monthly or annual) until you cancel. Before you pay, we show you the price, the billing interval, the date your first charge is taken, and the fact that the plan renews automatically at that interval until you cancel. By subscribing, you authorize us and our payment processor to charge that recurring fee at the start of each billing period.
You can cancel anytime from the billing portal, accessible from the extension's Account tab (Settings → Account → Manage subscription). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; your access continues until then, and you are not charged again after you cancel. If a renewal payment fails, we may retry it before the subscription ends.
Subscription fees are non-refundable except where required by law or at our discretion (for example, a billing error). The paid-but-pending Founding remedy in section 4b is an explicit exception to this default. Where you have a statutory right of withdrawal or cooling-off period, the applicable law governs; contact us at jobuildsstuff@gmail.com to exercise it.
EU and UK consumers. Where the law gives you a 14-day right to withdraw from a purchase of digital services, you expressly request that your subscription begins immediately when you subscribe, and you acknowledge that once we have begun supplying the service with your consent you lose that right of withdrawal for the service already supplied. This does not affect your right to cancel future renewals at any time, as described above.
4d. Billing disputes and chargebacks
If something looks wrong with a charge, please contact us first at jobuildsstuff@gmail.com. We will work with you to resolve it, and most issues (for example, a billing error) can be fixed faster this way than through a card dispute.
If you formally dispute a charge with your bank or card issuer (a "chargeback"), the following applies while the dispute is open and after it is resolved:
- Disputing a credit bundle. We reverse the credits that purchase granted. Your balance is reduced by up to that number of credits and never goes below zero, so a dispute can never leave you owing credits. While we resolve the dispute, we may temporarily pause your ability to spend credits. A bundle dispute affects credits only: it does not remove your Pro or Founding Member status.
- Disputing a subscription charge. Because that charge pays for the paid access it covers, disputing it may end the corresponding paid access (Pro, Pro Plus, Founding Member, or Founding Plus) for the affected period.
These steps protect against payment reversals; they are not penalties. None of this limits any refund or other right you have under applicable law, and you can always reach us at jobuildsstuff@gmail.com to sort out a charge before or after a dispute.
4e. Plan changes and proration
When you upgrade to a higher tier, the change takes effect immediately and we charge the prorated difference for the remainder of your current billing period; the exact amount and the new recurring price are shown to you before you confirm.
When you downgrade to a lower tier, the change takes effect at the end of your current billing period: you keep the higher tier and its price until then, and no partial refund is given for the unused portion.
EU and UK consumers. When you upgrade, supply of the higher tier begins immediately and you acknowledge the loss of the 14-day right of withdrawal for the upgrade at the moment you confirm it.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- attempt to bypass usage limits, rate limits, or access controls, or automate abuse of the service;
- generate an abnormal or automated volume of rewrites, or otherwise use the service in a way designed to run up our costs;
- use Unvent to create unlawful, infringing, or harmful content;
- reverse-engineer, resell, or disrupt the service or its infrastructure;
- use another person's account or payment method without permission, or create accounts to evade limits or a suspension.
Breaking these rules can lead to the actions described in section 9 (Suspension, termination, and enforcement).
6. Phrasing help, not professional advice
Unvent assists with phrasing only. It is not legal, HR, financial, or other professional advice. AI-generated rewrites can be imperfect or wrong. You are responsible for reviewing and for the final content you send.
7. Intellectual property
You keep all rights to the text you write and send. We keep all rights to the Unvent software, name, and brand. We don't claim ownership of your content.
8. Disclaimers & limitation of liability
Unvent is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Unvent is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for loss arising from content you send. Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited by law.
9. Suspension, termination, and enforcement
We may update these terms (we'll update the date above and give notice of material changes). You may stop using Unvent and delete your account at any time.
To protect Unvent, its users, and our running costs, we may take action against misuse. Daily rewrite limits are enforced per plan (including the Pro Plus cap of 75 rewrites per day), and server-side rate limits apply to all plans; attempting to circumvent them or generating an abnormal or automated volume of rewrites may result in rate-limiting or suspension. Depending on how serious the misuse is, that can include a warning, rate-limiting or restricting features, pausing your credit use, suspending or locking your account, or terminating your access. We may do this where you breach these terms (including the acceptable-use rules in section 5), where we reasonably suspect fraud, payment abuse, account sharing, or automated or high-volume use that threatens the service or runs up our costs, or where the law requires it. Where the risk is serious (for example, active abuse, a security threat, or fraud), we may suspend or restrict access immediately and without prior notice; otherwise we aim to give notice where it is practical to do so.
If we suspend or terminate your account because of your breach or abuse, fees you have already paid are not refundable, except where the law requires otherwise. This is in addition to the billing-dispute handling in section 4d. If you think we have acted in error, contact us at jobuildsstuff@gmail.com and we will review it.
10. Governing law & contact
These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. A postal address is available on request. Questions: jobuildsstuff@gmail.com.
